I’m going to run through everything that’s in here right now and then we’ll go back through and talk about how each one is connected and while we’re doing that, I’ll talk about various things you might want to know as far as hooking these up, little tips and tricks and so on. In fact, I have something on every single one of the eight inputs right now which is kind of impressive. All right, as you can see, I’ve got a lot of stuff hooked up to this ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. I’ve got all this already connected to an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, but it’s a bit too much to fit on my desk here, so let’s step into the main studio. We’ll start with a computer - one of the most common devices to want to integrate but we’ll also look at connecting an iPad, an iPhone, a wireless Chromecast, an Airplay receiver, an HDMI receiver, so you could wirelessly connect a camera from across the room, an ATEM streaming bridge, which would allow you to connect to a camera from across the world and a dedicated video player.

In this ATEM (mini) Tip, we’ll look at how to connect a variety of devices other than a camera to your ATEM Mini.

I'll connect a Hollyland Mars 300 Wireless HDMI receiver for including a remote camera across the room, and a Blackmagic ATEM Streaming Bridge for connecting a remote camera across the world!Īnd finally, I'll look at a tiny little HDMI video player, which is perfect for background video, looping interstitials, and so-on! 📄 Full Video Transcript

I'll show you the Mirascreen Chromecast and Airplay receiver, which makes it easy to share nearly any screen, including an Android phone or a single Chrome browser tab!

I'll talk about cropping out the empty space, and filling the screen with the image or placing it against your video background. You can also connect an iPad or iPhone using a USB-C to HDMI or Lightning to HDMI adapter, but when you do, the image won't be full screen. You can run a computer in dual screen mode (ideal for Keynote or PowerPoint presentations) or in mirroring mode (ideal for video playback or software demos)! I'll also show you various options for connecting, including HDMI adapters and USB-C to HDMI cables. But if it doesn't, you may need to force the resolution to 1920x1080, and even force the frequency to 60Hz (or whatever is best for your region). When connecting a Mac or PC to your ATEM Mini, the screen should just show up.

I know there are a wide variety of options here, but "How to Output Character Animator to an External Monitor" would be a great tutorial. You know you can connect a camera to your ATEM Mini… but what else can you easily connect? It turns out… a LOT! Learn how to connect and configure a Mac, an iPad, an iPhone, a Chromecast receiver, a wireless HDMI, an ATEM Streaming Bridge, and even a dedicated HDMI video player! The hardware seen in this video… The Live Output preferences in CA does show both Blackmagic Playback and NewTek NDI output options, I just can't figure out what to do with them.

I am running a Mac and I've now installed the NewTek software and NDI Outlet, but I don't have SDI outs on my Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K, nor does my consumer monitor have an SDI in, just HDMI. Yay! and, again, my apologies for cluttering up this forum with misinformation. Turns out Record does stream to my monitor. It would be great if I could access my external monitor while in Rig and Record, but I suppose that would be eggs in my beer.Ĭorrection 2, User Error as well: Sorry, I should really look before I leap. I have used it myself to output fill and key from graphics software and it does work.Ĭorrection, User Error: I needed to change a setting in NDI Outlet and then hit Start. It takes the NDI Fill and Key Stream from Character Animator and outputs it fill and key via 2 SDI outs on a BlackMagic Interface. From there you have lots of options, but one thing to try is NDI Outlet (assuming you are on Mac). It seems you have tried going down the NDI Route which will get you an NDI IP Video output from Character Animator.
